Licensing & tiers

Tiers

Individual - $10/month: 1 user, 2 tenants included.

Business - $20/month: unlimited users, 2 tenants included.

Both tiers: additional tenants are $5/month each. Annual billing is available at a discount. There is no free tier. Purchase at tfsmith.com; your key arrives by email in about a minute.

How activation works

Your license is a short key (TFSM-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX). Entering it exchanges the key with the KelTech license server for a signed entitlement bound to this install, which the app then verifies entirely offline. The only data ever sent is your license key and a random install id - never your tenants, never your data, never telemetry.

One license runs on one install at a time. Moving? Click Deactivate license in Settings - the key is released instantly and can be activated on the new install. If the old install is gone, release it from the customer portal at tfsmith.com/manage.

The entitlement is valid through your paid-through date plus a 3-day grace period, and the app checks in daily to pick up renewals and added tenants automatically - you never re-enter anything. If the license server is ever unreachable, nothing breaks: only activations, moves, and renewals need it; day-to-day use is fully offline.

Air-gapped / offline installs

Create an offline license file at tfsmith.com/offline-license using your key and the install id shown on the License screen, then upload it in the app. An offline install never phones home at all. Renew and download a fresh file before expiry. Honest limitation: the offline path cannot enforce one-install-at-a-time - we trust you.

Limits and what happens at expiry

Tenant and user caps come from the signed license itself - adding tenants at tfsmith.com/manage raises your cap at the next daily check-in, no new key and no app update. At expiry plus the grace period TFsmith locks to the License screen until a current license is installed. Your tenants, users, and stored exports are never deleted.

If you have more tenants connected than your plan covers - after a downgrade, or if a tenant add-on ends - the extra tenants are locked, not removed. The tenants you connected first stay active, and a locked tenant cannot be browsed, refreshed, or exported until you add a tenant add-on at tfsmith.com/manage or remove another tenant. Everything stored for a locked tenant stays exactly as it was and comes straight back when it is covered again.

Administrators with an email address on file get expiry warning emails at 14, 7, 3, and 1 days out (requires email setup in Settings).
